I am so happy with the curriculum we are using this year.  This was something I couldn't say for the first two and a half years of homeshooling.  I was so discouraged in the beginning, I actually started to think that I wasn't going to be able to homeschool my children at all.  I took my frustrations to the Lord and diligently searched for curriculum that would lead our family where we needed to go.  I prayed for God's guidance, and I am happy to say that he came through.   Every homeschool is different, just as each child and learning style is different.  This is what works for our family.  If you aren't happy with your current curriculum I encourage you to take a look below. I use this wonderful bible based curriculum with my first grade son.  It covers everything you need for the entire year: reading, art, music, phonics, spelling, math, science, and bible.

I added in a separate spelling and math program because my son is advanced in these subjects and needed more of a challenge.

My third grade daughter joins in with us for the bible portion.  She reads the bible story with us, completes a notebooking page on what we read about, and learns the bible memory verse for the week.

This curriculum is awesome for teaching the bible to young students.  I wouldn't trade what we have learned from this curriculum for anything.

This curriculum is for grades 2-3.  I use it for my third grade daughter and my first grade son too.  My son does all of the same assignments as my daughter, he just works at his writing level for the notebooking assignments.  This is a complete year curriculum which includes music, art, science, reading, bible, and American history.  You will need to add your own spelling and math programs.  

We love this.  There's lots of hand on projects to do.  Everything is planned out for you, which makes life a lot easier.  Sometimes we use the science suggestions for that week, and sometimes I plan a lapbook or unit study on another science topic and we do that instead.

We have had lots of fun using this curriculum so far this year.

Math on the level is what I use for both of my children.

The great thing about this curriculum is that it teaches math all the way up to pre algebra.  It take a little bit of reading and looking over the curriculum to get the hang of how it works, but once you begin it is very easy to use.  

Because you can view all of the math concepts all the way to pre algebra, it is so easy to move your child right ahead to the next level.  With other programs, you would have to purchase a book for the next grade level.

This curriculum is not broken into grade levels.  Instead, it is broken up into areas of math such as multiplication, division, fractions, etc.  So, if your child is excelling in, let's say multiplication, then you can move her right along to the next level in multiplication.  If she is having problems with fractions, you can decide to put that off for a while until she is better able to grasp the concepts in that area.

It also comes with a great record keeping system.

We have tried lots of other math programs, but I have never been truly satisified with anything we have tried until we bought Math on the Level.

I am currently using this writing curriculum with my daughter, and I plan on starting with my son next year.  All I can say is "Thank you God!"  

The one on the left is for you, the teacher.  It teaches you HOW to teach the course.  The one on the right is for the student.  Both come with dvd's and manual.  This has been very easy to use.  My daughter went from barely being able to write one sentence without crying and running to her bedroom (I am not kidding) to writing her own short stories.  This took place within about 2 months.  

I will never look for another writing program.
